Introduction to Judaism
Taught by Rabbi Matthew A. Reimer, this course has no tests, no homework, no stress – only presentations and discussions between friends.
Introduction to Judaism is a free, informal seminar open to anyone interested in exploring Judaism – interfaith couples, those considering conversion, and Jews looking for a refresher into the faith of their birth. Class members will enjoy a glimpse into the fundamentals of Jewish belief, thought, and practice from a distinctly Reform Jewish perspective. This class will open for its students the majesty of Jewish theology, prayer, holiday observances, and life cycle rituals.
Introduction to Judaism will be held each Sunday from September 17 through early 2018 (end date to be determined) from 9:00 a.m to 10:15 a.m.
To register, call the Temple Sinai office at 504-861-3693 and let us know to save you a seat.
Director of Education Ann Zivitz Kientz will teach Beginner Hebrew on Wednesdays from October 11 through December 13 (except November 22) from 6:00 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. This class is free and open to the public. Register here.
