Save the Date – from the Religious School Committee

Dear Temple Sinai:

A strong religious school is vital not only for attracting young families but also for creating Temple Sinai’s future leaders and congregants.

On behalf of the Board of Directors, we are pleased to announce that Jewish Education Consultant Robyn Faintich, of Atlanta, Georgia, will assist us in developing a new strategic plan. Robyn has 20 years of experience as a Jewish Educator and in 2010 founded the Jewish education consulting firm JewishGPS, LLC ( She has been working with congregations and other Jewish institutions for eight years – helping them with education innovation, strategic education visioning, curriculum development and staff training.

Robyn will visit Temple Sinai April 15-18, 2018, to observe the school and conduct a variety of meetings and interviews. To do her job well, she needs our feedback and participation. Religious School parents and other stakeholders should be on the lookout for invitations to attend specific feedback sessions during Robyn’s visit. Some of the children will also be invited to participate in feedback opportunities with Robyn. All of your voices are important to the future of our learning community.

The weekend with Robyn is only the beginning. The planning process will continue through the end of this school year and will include online surveys and some interviews. The goal for 2018-2019 is to implement a new middle school initiative, some initial first-phase adaptations for the entire education program, and some possible changes for our high school teens. Based on our experience with this initial process, we will then explore an additional year of visioning for more in-depth changes for the 2019-2020 year. We are very excited to see what this process will yield for the benefit of our youth and families.

We appreciate all of the parents, students, clergy, administrators, members of the board and generations of Temple Sinai families that have supported our Temple’s commitment to the best in religious education. We hope all involved will take advantage of this opportunity to strengthen our Religious School and plan for an exciting, vibrant future. We welcome input, suggestions and questions from all members of the Congregation. Please feel free to contact any of us on the Religious School Committee:
