uTemple Sinai certainly knows how to roar the twenties as we celebrated our 150th year! Saturday, March 7, 2020 will go down in history with elaborate fanfare, ambiance, music, cuisine, Charleston swing and pearls!

The Gala was a tremendous success with over 175 guests. Whether you were dressed up in Roaring Twenties eveningwear or festive cocktail attire, we thank you for being a vital part of honoring Temple Sinai’s 150 years and supporting the synagogue. Every contribution to the evening is so much appreciated. We thank our sponsors, patrons and gala guests as well as their further support with auction and raffle purchases. We appreciate those who donated the auction items and in-kind gifts as well as all the Celebration Book advertisers who sent heart felt messages to Temple Sinai and promoted their businesses. We are grateful to all our gala volunteers and staff who spent countless hours covering all the bases. Everyone had an important part.

Our patron guests were treated to a deluxe affair at the home of Joan and Julian Feibelman. Hors d’ouvres generously donated from Galatoire’s and Ruth’s Chris Steak House were passed while Cantor Joel Colman and Dr. Marcus St. Julien performed show tunes. The gala continued with a red carpet entrance into a gold lame draped foyer. After sipping on the signature peach Bellini cocktail, a luxurious sit down dinner awaited. The evening featured live music by Meryl Zimmerman and a commemorative video with our past presidents sharing poignant Sinai moments. And of course, Sinai had its multi-tiered cake which was cut by our Board President, Tracey Dodd.

As a result of all who contributed, we are proud to announce that we raised close to $65,000 in net revenue. These funds are vital in ensuring that Temple Sinai can continue to open its doors to serve our congregants and the New Orleans community. From maintaining our historic facility and offering vibrant and inspiring worship, to providing a comprehensive and impactful religious school within a safe and engaging venue, your donation is truly vital.

We honor and value your support and hope that the positive energy that emanated from this year’s gala will continue throughout the year.
