Dear Temple Sinai Family,
CHAG PESACH SAMEACH – Happy Passover! I hope everyone is enjoying Passover so far this year. By the time you read this, our Springtime Festival will be almost halfway over. Time flies when you are eating Matzah! (What a “crummy” expression!)
I missed having a Congregational Seder once again this year. Hopefully L’SHANAH HABAAH – next year – we will be able to celebrate together in-person. I want to thank everyone who joined with me, Cantor Colman, and Rabbi Cohn for our Second Night Celebration on Sunday over Zoom. It was great to see you and to celebrate Passover with you.
We still have much to observe and celebrate during Passover this week. I invite you to join with me on Zoom at 7:00pm for Wednesday Night Live – Passover Edition as we continue to discuss and explore the many ways we celebrate Passover. The conversation will continue during our Thursday Lunch Passover Discussion on April 1 at 12:30pm on Zoom.
At Temple Sinai we observe the traditional number of days of Passover: 7 – just as we are commanded in the Torah. So we will mark the last day of Passover with a special Shabbat & Festival Evening Service on Friday, April 2 at 6:00pm. You are invited to join us in-person or
on-line. We will also celebrate our April Anniversaries and Birthdays. We will continue to mark the last day of Passover with a special Shabbat & Festival Morning Service on Saturday, April 3 at 10:30am. We will include our Yizkor Memorial Service, as we remember family members and congregants who have died in 5781. This week we are inviting you to join us in-person for Torah Study and services on Saturday morning. As always, for all of our
in-person services and events, we ask that you please make a reservation so that we know whom and how many to expect.
Saturday evening we may put away our Matzah and break out the Chameitz. The best way to do this? Pizza, of course! Please support our Temple Sinai Giveback Event at Reginelli’s Pizzeria (3 locations: Uptown, Lakeview, and Poydras). Reginelli’s will donate 10% of your order if you mention Temple Sinai. Good for dine-in, pick-up, and delivery! Reginelli’s Pizza – ooh I want to eat you Saturday!
Enjoy the rest of Passover. May the Matzah treat you well. Stay safe and healthy! We hope to see you soon!
Rabbi Daniel Sherman
