A native of Long Island, New York, Matt moved to New Orleans to attend Tulane University in August of 2000 and later earned his law degree from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law. Along with his wife, Jeri Ann, and their daughter, Rose, a proud student in Temple Sinai’s Sunday school, Matt is grateful to call New Orleans home and to be part of a congregation that plays such a meaningful role in his family’s life.
Matt brings to his leadership role a deep commitment to service, having served for thirteen years in the United States federal government across two federal agencies in various leadership roles. He later founded his own consulting firm, advising healthcare providers that work to expand access to essential medications and care for underserved communities. Matt continues to serve as an Assistant Bar Examiner for the Louisiana Supreme Court and is a former Chair of a Louisiana Attorney Disciplinary Board Hearing Committee.
In his spare time, Matt enjoys swimming, running, and playing tennis. He looks forward to working closely with the clergy, Board, staff, and congregants to support Temple Sinai’s mission and ensure its continued strength as a vibrant center of Jewish life in New Orleans.
