Film Screening | MY ITALIAN SECRET: The Forgotten Heroes of the Holocaust

When

March 9, 2026
6:00PM - 8:00PM

Join us on Monday, March 9 at 6:00PM for a film screening of MY ITALIAN SECRET: The Forgotten Heroes of the Holocaust, followed by discussion with author Elizabeth Bettina, who’s book the film was based on.  This film, narrated by Isabella Rossellini, reveals a remarkable and little-known chapter of WWII: how 80% of Italy’s Jewish population survived the Holocaust. The film follows an unlikely network of rescuers—ordinary citizens, entire villages, police officers, town officials, concentration camp guards, bicycle champion Gino Bartali, local priests and nuns, and even high-ranking members of the Catholic Church—who defied the Nazis. It highlights the power of both individual and collective resistance, showing how forged documents, hidden shelters, and covert escape routes saved thousands of lives. Open to the community. Light dinner will be served.
